Strategic Planning

I support Boards and senior executives in identifying and agreeing their organisation's medium and long-term direction. I assimilate and translate ideas and conclusions to define a narrative; and then I present the strategic objectives by preparing strategic plans which are ready for publication.

Peer Support

I know from personal experience that leadership can be lonely; and so I support CEOs and c-suite professionals by stewarding a long-term peer-to-peer relationship in which I provide a safe and empathetic environment - listening, questioning, clarifying, and/or reframing a colleague's ideas, thoughts, or challenges, and helping them to frame their authentic leadership style.

Governance Reviews

All boardrooms require a productive culture, appropriate operating structures, a set of skills, and a suite of governance protocol which guide their operations and are used as a reference point in leading the organization. I help boards understand what's required and support them in implementing and maintaining good governance.

Governance Frameworks

Irrespective of their structures and governance model, all boards require a complement of operational policies, strategies, and protocol. Without burdening a board with cumbersome or unnecessary paperwork, I provide absolute written clarity on a board's formal roles, responsibilities, and delegated authorities.

Board Assessment & Appraisal

I work with boards to identify their strengths and to assess any gaps in the professional competencies that are required to lead and direct their organization; and I advise on how, through training and succession planning, a board can achieve an appropriate balance of expertise.

Competency Frameworks

I promote the highest standards of professional competence by working to define the core set of skills, knowledge, and behaviours required by an individual to navigate and succeed in their careers. My professional competency frameworks are designed to reflect and inform the qualities and characteristics that are necessary for a profession to flourish.

Business Strategy & Policy

I prepare the operational policies and strategies that are required by an organization to guide its actions. They define the limits within which decisions are made and the manner in which resources are managed, such as risk, finance, and data management; procurement, business development, and volunteer engagement; and stakeholder engagement, social responsibility, and horizon scanning.

Market Analyses & Feasibility Studies

As part of the business development process, I conduct independent assessments of proposed or existing projects or undertakings to determine their merits and/or viability; and when a general course of action is agreed, I compare, assess, and evaluate a range of options for conducting business to ensure the efficient and effective use of resources.
